i can almost forgeti can almost forget as i lay in the dappled sunshine with the cool earth at my back and the sky in my eyes that i live in a dying world

i can still hear the cars as they zoom past still hear the bass thumping the train whistles blowing the buses chugging along
i can still hear the earth crying begging for a reprieve aching for an ice pack and someone to kiss it all better
as i lay on my back with the wind in my hair and the grass on my skin i can almost forget
